Win tickets to the National Dressage Championships

We have five pairs of tickets up for grabs to The Dressage Deluxe National Dressage Championships 2010, for Friday 10th September.

Every September, Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire is transformed into a world class backdrop to four days of unmissable dressage. The event is the pinnacle of the British Dressage summer competition season and a unique opportunity to see so many  well known horses and riders in action.

There are many dimensions to the show - the open layout of the showground is quite unique and adds so much to the visitor experience. It offers freedom to take in the atmosphere, stop by the working-in, and get an insight into how the pros prepare themselves and their horses for peak performance. This is a perfect opportunity to pick up tips from the best in the business or simply to enjoy the athleticism and majesty of high calibre dressage horses.

A trip to the nationals wouldn’t be complete without a shopping fest thrown into the bargain and visitors will be in for a treat with so many dressage specialists in one place. Wander around the tented village, soak up the buzz and enjoy the friendly atmosphere as we prepare to “do dressage” from dawn till dusk for four magical days.

Looking to keep your horse in great shape this winter?

Be part of Dauntsey Park Horse Trials

Visit Dauntsey Park Horse Trials (1^st – 3^rd October) as a competitor, spectator, sponsor, trade stand exhibiter or however you choose.

With over 800 horse and rider combinations ranging from novice to Olympic level, this is a local event not to be missed. British Eventing combines the elegance of dressage with the speed and stamina of cross country and the agility and accuracy of show jumping.   

Located in North Wiltshire between Malmesbury (four miles) and Chippenham M4 Junction 17 (six miles), the event takes place on the banks of the beautiful River Avon. Watch international riders compete in dressage, show jumping and walk the unspoilt farm watching competitors tackle the exhilarating cross country course testing both horse and rider to their limits. Not forgetting of course, the water crossings offering some first-class thrills for all.

Then visit the trade stands, catering and public bar situated around the main arena.

Special Event: On the final day, Sunday 3^rd October, don’t miss the AmTrust Equine Insurance High Jump/Presence challenge (www.amtrustequine.co.uk) which will take place at 2pm. Watch riders challenge themselves beyond normal levels with the threat of jumping bareback to stay in the running for The Am Trust Equine Insurance prize, whilst raising money for The Air Ambulance.

V.W.H Hunt Autumn Fun Ride

V.W.H. HUNT are holding an Autumn Fun Ride and Pick n mix cross country ride on Sunday 11^th October an Ampney Down Farm, Nr Cirencester.

The ride will commence at 10am with the last horse at 2pm.  The ride which covers approximately 10 miles of undulating and beautiful Cotswold countryside will also give riders the opportunity to tackle some of the fences used for the VWH team chase as well as fences of varying sizes.  For entry forms please visit www.ampneydownequestrian.co.uk

HELP FOR HEROES CHARITY FUN RIDE

A charity fun ride in aid of Help for Heroes with a table top sale is being held at Church Farm, Tytherington, Wiltshire BA12 7AB (by kind permission of Mr Victor Sidford) on Sunday 23^rd August 2009 £10 per horse, £5 per bicycle, £5 per table top refreshments available, BBQ, cakes, drinks.  Fun ride approx 8 or 13.5 miles through woodland and farmland, with optional jumps entries on the day or pre-entires email kerrie kerrie@downlands-equestrian.com all riders receive rosettes.
